A walk in the heart of a very ancient city, powerfully shaped in its present appearance from a long and complex history. A city that manages to surprise you at every corner with an incredible beauty.
Among the best known buildings housing institutions in Rome there is undoubtedly the seventeenth century Palazzo Montecitorio, the current seat of the Chamber of Deputies of the Italian Republic. It was begun by Gian Lorenzo Bernini, continued and completed by Carlo Fontana with the current appearance in Liberty style by the architect Ernesto Basile.

From the beautiful rear facade overlooking the Parliament Square, exiting on Via del Corso you will find one of the biggest buildings and most important of Rome. One of the most beautiful. It is accessed by a courtyard garden with splendid Renaissance arcades and a fragrant garden with citrus trees, it houses a priceless gallery.

That of the Palazzo Doria Pamphilj is one of the most prestigious private art collections can be visited in Rome.

The heirs of the noble lineage which belonged, as Andrea Doria (1466-1560), Admiral of the Republic of Genoa, and Pope Innocent X, born Giovanni Battista Pamphilj (1574-1655), live still there.

The beautiful museum housed in the palace was created by the same Pontiff in the sixteenth century. The extensive collection of paintings, furniture and statues which include works by Jacopo Tintoretto, Titian, Raphael, Correggio, Caravaggio, Guercino, Gian Lorenzo Bernini, Parmigianino, Gaspard Dughet, Jan Brueghel the Elder, Velazquez and many other important artists, is the triumph of art in the heart of the capital.

The luxury of apartments stuns and dazzles with its yellow, its red, its gilding. High walls decorated with paintings, curtains, heavy velvets, precious silks, mirrors and chandeliers, which characterize the different environments in which beauty explodes unstoppable.

I'm wearing a casual chic outfit, a sweatshirt, culotte pants and a pair of super trendy loafers, to leave behind for a while the noise of the contemporary metropolis and immerse myself in the seventeenth century.
(Click here to see another outfit where I was wearing the same loafers and here to see my different look with culotte pants).
